Read More	Stratford Courier June 1, 1933 Arnold Ferdinand Olson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Axel Olson, died on Tuesday morning, May 23, in his home three miles northeast of Stratford, at the age of 19 years, 8 months, 17 days. His death came very suddenly after a very brief illness of a few days with summer flu which did not appear serious until a sudden reaction affected his heart and death followed almost immediately. The death came as a great shock to very many as Arnold was one of the well known and highly respected young men of the community. He graduated from high school a few years ago with special honors and was very prominent in oratorical work. He spent three years in the Stratford High School graduating from the Logan High School. Within his church he will long be remembered as being a very faithful member and prominent in all her activities. He was a member of the Lutheran church of Stratford, being both baptized and confirmed there. At the time of his death he held offices of Sunday school treasurer, assistant secretary, chairman of the board of ushers and was a member of the Luther league program staff. He was a very talented young man, easily assuming leadership and won great respect and esteem among his friends in the church and community. He will be mostly missed in his home to which he was intimately devoted. He leaves to mourn his death his father and mother and a sister, Myrtle. His christian home will, however, bear the grief with great christian fortitude and leave it all to their Lord and Saviour, knowing that His will is always best though in times of grief harder to understand. He also leaves many relatives and a host of friends. Deceased always tried to live for high ideals. For the last year, in connection with his home work, he was taking a study course in law and thereby hoped to prepare himself for greater service to those in need and make his life reach out. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, his pastor, the Rev. Anton Chell, officiating. A short service was held in the home at 2:00 o'clock at which time "Rock of Ages" was sung by Mrs. Chell. At 2:30 o'clock services were held in the church and the pastor used the text for his sermon from I John 1:7. A male quartet composed of Lester Anderson, Leonard Anderson, Raymond Berglund and Axel Sandegren, sang, "Beautiful Land" and "I May Not Know the Reason." The song, "Jesus While Our Hearts Are Bleeding" was rendered by Miss Florence Barquist. The pallbearers were Leonard Anderson, Aubrey Barquist, Glenn Bergman, Max Naylor, Roy Bergman and Floyd Page. Interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery.
