Description	:	Arnold Henry Rinne, 93, of Beatrice passed away on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, in Beatrice. He was born on July 23, 1918, to Henry A. and Emma J. (Buente) Rinne on his parent's farm north of Burchard. Arnold was baptized and confirmed at Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church northwest of Steinauer where he was a lifelong member. He was born on July 23, 1918, to Henry A. and Emma J. (Buente) Rinne on his parent's farm north of Burchard. Arnold was baptized and confirmed at Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church northwest of Steinauer where he was a lifelong member. His confirmation verse was: "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you" That promise was fulfilled completely in Arnold's life. Arnold attended Lewiston Consolidated School all 13 years and graduated from high school in 1937. In 1929, when Arnold was 10 years old and in the fourth grade, his father died from cancer leaving his young family to fend for themselves. Arnold stayed home and farmed with his family until 1953. On Nov. 10, 1952, he married Velma Hubka and in the spring of 1953 they started farming together on rented farms. In 1966 he bought what turned out to be their family farm where they raised their five children and continued to live there until 2005. He was a successful farmer and rancher having acquired and paid for 760 acres of land during the 52 years that they farmed. He owned a two mile stretch of land between four and six miles north of Burchard, so he called it his Two-Mile Ranch. Their children are Karen, Calvin, Lamar, Karla and Norton plus 14 grandchildren. He was active in Salem's Men's Brotherhood and contributed walnut lumber for the church's remodeling project. He and Velma nominated the church for the Good Neighbor Award. He also served on the Pawnee County Fair Board. In 1969 Arnold and Velma were presented with the Pawnee County SWCD Conservation Award. In 2005 Arnold and Velma bought a home in Beatrice and have lived there since. Arnold always said, his wife Velma and their five children were his great delight and of course his 14 grandchildren, his sons-in-law and daughters-in-law. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and trapping as a means of earning some spending money. Survivors include his wife Velma, daughter and husband, Karen and Robert Epp, son and wife Calvin and Teresa Rinne, daughter and husband, Karla and James Bohling, and son and wife, Norton and Kimberly Rinne, 14 grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Emma Rinne, two brothers, a sister and a baby sister and son Lamar. Funeral services 11 a.m., Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Salem U.C.C. church, Steinauer. Officiating Reverend Kathy Rahorst. Visitation is on Wednesday, August 16, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City. Interment at Salem U.C.C. Cemetery, Steinauer. Memorials to family choice.
