Mass will be conducted at St. Catherine Church in Iliff at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow (Friday), followed by graveside rites and interment at Holyoke Memorial Park. ----------------------------------- Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, September 27, 1962 ARTHUR CLAYMON FUNERAL FRIDAY; INTERMENT HERE Funeral services for Arthur Claymon of Sterling, former Phillips County resident, were conducted at 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 21, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Iliff, with the Rev. Charles Salmon officiating. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park. Mr. Claymon, who was 62 years of age, passed away suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Sterling on Monday evening, September 17. He had been in poor health for some time but had remained active and had been doing some work about his home shortly before his death. A son of Remmer and Mary Kloeman* Claymon, Arthur Claymon was born September 3, 1900, in Humphrey, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Mary J. Ewegen on August 1, 1921 at Grant, Nebraska. He farmed in the Amherst community for a number of years and later was engaged in business in Holyoke for a time before moving to Ogallala, Nebraska, where he operated a locker plant and supermarket in partnership with his son, Alvin. Mr. Claymon returned to Amherst in 1952, where he again engaged in farming, then moved to Iliff in 1957 and farmed there until the spring of 1962, when he retired and moved to Sterling. He was a member of St. Catherine Church at Iliff, a charter member of the Ogallala Elks Lodge, and a member of the Woodmen of America, Knights of Columbus, and the Lions club and Rotary club at Ogallala. Survivors include his wife, Mary, Sterling; one son, Alvin A. Claymon, North Platte, Nebraska; step-mother, Mrs. May Claymon, Canon City; a brother, Lester Claymon, Scottsbluff, Nebraska; three half-brothers, Clarence Claymon, Denver, Mike Claymon, Canon City, and Felix Claymon, Tucson, Arizona; and four granddaughters, Charlene Claymon, North Platte. He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Claymon, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Demmel and Mrs. Jennie Brandt.
