DEMMEL DIES SUDDENLY; RITES TUESDAY Mrs. Frank Demmel, a resident of the Amherst community for 37 years, passed away at her home Saturday after a brief illness. Her death was attributed to a heart attack. Mrs. Demmel was 62 years old. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Holyoke Methodist church, with Rev. H.R. Bauer officiating. Mrs. Demmel became a member of the local Methodist church during the ministry of Rev. Louis A. Haruf, now of Yuma. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Arrangements were in charge of the Lewis Funeral Home. As Emma Claymon, one of eight children of Remmer and May Claymon, Mrs. Demmel was born August 29, 1891 at Danforth, Illinois. In 1901, when she was 10 years old, she moved with her parents to Humphrey, Nebraska, where she grew to womanhood. On March 5, 1913, she was united in marriage with Frank Demmel at Humphrey and they continued to make their home in that community for a few years. On March 5, 1917 they moved to the Amherst community, where they continued to reside. Mr. and Mrs. Demmel had one child, Willis Demmel, who now lives northeast of Holyoke. Mrs. Demmel is survived by her husband; the son already mentioned; one grandson, Dennis Demmel; her mother, Mrs. May Claymon, Canon City, Colorado; and six brothers, Ed Claymon, New Plymouth, Idaho, Lester Claymon, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Art and Felix Claymon, Amherst, Clarence Claymon, Denver, and Mike Claymon, Westcliffe, Colorado. One sister, Mrs. Jenny Brandt, preceded Mrs. Demmel in death in 1905, and her father died November 5, 1940.
