CLAYMON RITES TO BE HELD FRIDAY Former County Commissioner Dies in Holyoke After Short Illness Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Holyoke for R. Claymon of Amherst, a former commissioner of Phillips County, who died at 1:10 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The final rites will be conducted by Rev. N.F. Horn of McCook, Nebraska, pastor of the McCook Church of Christ. Burial will be made in the Holyoke cemetery. Mr. Claymon, who had been in failing health several months, entered the hospital for treatment Monday morning. He died as a result of complications of advanced age. Mr. Claymon was 69 years, nine months and nine days old. ------------------------------------------ Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, November 14, 1940 FUNERAL HELD FOR FORMER OFFICIAL Remmer Claymon of Amherst Dies Following Long Illness Funeral services were conducted in Holyoke Friday afternoon for Remmer Claymon of Amherst, former commissioner of Phillips County, who died Tuesday afternoon, November 5, at the Holyoke hospital, where he had been a patient one day. Death was due to acute diabetes and complications of advanced age. Rev. N.F. Horn, pastor of the Church of Christ of McCook, Nebraska conducted the services. Prayer was read at the Colver Brothers Funeral Home and service was held at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist Church. Burial was made in the Holyoke cemetery. Pallbearers were William Bauer and Peter Thomsen of Amherst, and L.L. Yowell, John Sandquist, Leo O'Mara and J.R. Coyne of Holyoke. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Claymon of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Claymon and Theodore Claymon of Platte Center, Nebraska and Oliver Eden of Humphrey, Nebraska. Remmer Claymon, son of Herman and Jennie Eden Claymon, was born January 27, 1871 at Danforth, Illinois. At the age of 15 years he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. After leaving Illinois, he located in Madison County in Nebraska, where he resided until 1918, when he moved to Phillips County and located on a farm near Amherst, where he had since made his home. Mr. Claymon served as commissioner of Phillips County from 1930 to 1934. Surviving are his widow Mrs. May Claymon of Amherst; one daughter, Mrs. Frank Demmel, Amherst; six sons, Ed Claymon of McMinnville, Oregon, Lester Claymon of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Arthur Claymon of Holyoke, Clarence Claymon of Amherst, Michael Claymon of Westcliffs and Felix Claymon of Venango, Nebraska; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two brothers, Michael Claymon of Secor, Illinois and John Claymon of Spokane, Washington.
