Description	:	Thanks to contributor #48763187 Art E. Dierks, 74, of Fullerton died June 14, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Services were June 18 at Palmer's Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Phillips officiated. Burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim Dierks, Kenny Struss, Eugene Fuehrer, Mark Ditloff and Ed Dexter. Honorary pallbearers were Vern Luft, Harold Harris, Don Mitchell, LeRoy Belgum, Walter Dubas, Jr., Bob Greger, Tom Delaney and Paul Ulferts. Mr. Dierks was born February 12, 1921, at Platte Center to Louis and Frieda (Luschei) Marlar. He was adopted at an early age by Bernard and Anna (Heckel) Dierks. He attended District 16 school and grew up in Nance County. On March 10, 1941, he married Dorothy Land at Central City. They lived southeast of Fullerton for one year and then moved southwest where they farmed until 1976. Then they moved to Fullerton. Mrs. Dierks died April 25, 1996. Mr. Dierks was a member of the Fullerton Eagles. He enjoyed reading and being outside. Survivors include a son, LeRoy of Grand Island; two daughters, Wanda (Mrs. Milo) Mundil of Silver Creek and Sharon Struss of Hastings; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a half brother, Lloyd Marlar of Bolingbrook, IL.; and two sisters, Fern (Mrs. Walter) Kiuntke of Columbus and Opal (Mrs. Richard) Collingham of York. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Gerdes." Nance County Journal - June 18, 1996
