Liebendorfer, Formerly a Member of the County Board, Answers the Final Call. Today Pawnee county mourns the death of one of her best known residents, and a man who had served the county faithfully and well in many capacities, including those of county commissioner, election officer, church officials, etc. Arthur E. Liefendorfer passed to his reward on Friday evening last, November 13, after an illness which had confined him to his home but a week. He was in his seventy-third year. Mr. Liefendorger served Pawnee county as a commissioner from the third district for two terms, having been elected to the elections of 1905 and 1908, and he was chairman of the board when the present court house was erected in 1911. He was active in community affairs and his counsel was ever at the service of those who had the well being of the community at heart. Arthur Eugene Liebendorfer was born in Mecer county, Illinois, January 30, 1859, and departed this life November 13, 1931, at his home in Pawnee City, Nebr. In 1881 he removed from Illinois with his father, mother, brother and sister to Pawnee county, Nebr., where he has since resided. In 1883 he was married to Ella Allen, who died about four years later. In 1889 he was again united in marriage to Jennie L. Means, and to this union were born two sons, Lyle who now resides at Mason City, Iowa and Joe who lives in Arkansas City, Kansas. For many years he has been a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Pawnee City. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, two sons, two grandsons, one brother, J. E. Liebendorfer of this city and one sister, Mrs. Mae Park of Lincoln, Nebr. The funeral service was held at the Methodist church in Pawnee City, Sunday afternoon, Nov. 15, with the pastor, J. A. Moorman in charge, assisted by Rev. Whysong pastor of the Presbyterian church. The body was laid to rest in the Pawnee City cemetery.
