Description	:	Funeral services for Arthur Hrbek Sr., 91, of Creighton were held Friday, Aug. 11, 2000 at Christ Lutheran Church, Creighton. Rev. Terrell Huber officiated the 10:30 a.m. service with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Creighton. Arthur Hrbek Sr., son of Frank and Christena Wirth Hrbek, was born, July 15, 1909 on a farm west of Pischelville. Arthur Hrbek Sr., son of Frank and Christena Wirth Hrbek, was born, July 15, 1909 on a farm west of Pischelville. He attended school at Steelcreek, Dist. #46 in Knox County. after finishing eighth grade, he assisted his father on the family farm. On March 4, 1942, he married Sylvia Mlady at O'Neill. They ranched in Holt County until 1967, when they moved to a farm west of Creighton, where he was engaged in farming and ranching. In 1992, they moved to their new home in Creighton. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church of rural Creighton, where he served as Trustee and Mission Treasurer. He also served as Treasurer of School Dist. #36 when they lived in Holt County. He was an active member of the Creighton Senior Citizens. He took great pride in raising quality Hereford cattle. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. His favorite sport was baseball. He had a great love for garden flowers, especially red or pink. Arthur passed away, August 8, 2000 at the age of 91. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia, two sons and their wives; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one brother, Otto, of Verdigre and one sister, Tillie Minarik of Verdigre.
