Arthur J. Buzick, son of Frank and Lizzie Buzick, was born August 16, 1860, in a log cabin on a farm near Towanda, Ill. He was educated and reared in Illinois and came to Webster City when he was a young man. He was united in marriage here to Miss Lulu Hyatt. To this union nine children were born, one son dying in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Schlafke, preceding him in death. Mr. and Mrs. Buzick farmed near Webster City until 1915 when they moved to South Dakota and later to Minnesota. In 1932 they returned to Webster City where Mrs. Buzick died in 1934. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Jessie Osborn in 1935, and they had lived in this city since that time. Besides his son and daughter, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife; four sons and three daughters; Claude I. Buzick of Mankato, Minn.; William E. Buzick of Santa Ana, Calif.; Ralph Buzick, Henderson, Minn.; Kenneth Buzick, Webster City; Mrs. Bixlie (Leona) Baker of Wauseca, Minn.; Mrs. Tom (Cathe) Hanson of Mankato, and Mrs. Albert (Dorothy) Arndt of Rapidan, Minn. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother, Mrs. May Davore of Lexington, Ill., and Harmon Buzick of Bemidji, Minn. He was baptized in the Christian faith and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was one of the first members of the Freeman-Journal Three-Quarter Century club. Mr. Buzick was always interested in agriculture and stock raising. In his later years he loved to work in the garden and enjoyed raising flowers and shrubs. His family and home were his main interests in life .
