Description	:	ART KENNING Art Kenning, 96, died Saturday, February 24, 1990, at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rockwell City. Officiants were the Rev. Robert Bresemann and the Rev. James G. Davis. Kay Bresemann served as organist. Read More	ART KENNING Art Kenning, 96, died Saturday, February 24, 1990, at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rockwell City. Officiants were the Rev. Robert Bresemann and the Rev. James G. Davis. Kay Bresemann served as organist. Interment was in St. Paul Cemetery at Manson. Casket bearers were the Rev. James G. Davis, William A. Davis, Thomas D. Davis, Daniel J. Davis, Robert H. Fisher and Charles E. Fry. Arthur Leonard Kenning, son of John A. and August L. Mueller Kenning, was born April 6, 1893, in Lizard Township of Pocahontas County. He attended school in Manson through the eighth grade. At the age of 17 he entered J.P. Peterson College at Humboldt and graduated two years later with a degree in steam engineering. In 1914 he married Marie Collman at Manson. They made their home in Manson and Mr. Kenning farmed. He then worked for Ray Eno for a year and then was employed with the Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company until retirement in 1957. Marie Kenning died in 1950 and in 1951 he married Mildred E. Schneider at Manson. They made their home in Manson. Mildred Kenning died in 1970 and in 1977 Mr. Kenning moved to Sunnyview Retirement Residence at Rockwell City. Mr. Kenning was a member of the Quarter Century Club of Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, one son and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include one son, Kenneth Kenning of Humboldt; one daughter, Muriel Davis of Rockwell City; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
