Description	:	Arthur Roy Skinner, the youngest son of Marcus and Ella (Porter) Skinner was born May 27, 1901, on the Skinner family farm southeast of Edgar. He spent his entire lifetime in the Edgar community. Mr. Skinner departed this life Friday, September 25, 1981, at Bethesda Care Center in Edgar at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 28 days. Read More	Arthur Roy Skinner, the youngest son of Marcus and Ella (Porter) Skinner was born May 27, 1901, on the Skinner family farm southeast of Edgar. He spent his entire lifetime in the Edgar community. Mr. Skinner departed this life Friday, September 25, 1981, at Bethesda Care Center in Edgar at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 28 days. Arthur and Anna Janssen were married July 30, 1921, at Grand Island and observed their 60th wedding anniversary this summer. To this union two children were born. Arthur has been an active and interested member of the various Masonic Lodges. He was a Past Master of the Oak Lodge and a member of Nelson Lodge # 77 A.F. & A.M.; Past High Priest of Edgar Royal Arch Chapter #22; the Superior Damascus Council # 14 and Past Commander of Palmyra Commancery #27; a member of Hastings Consistory and Tehama Temple and Edgar Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #135. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Arthur Henry, a grandson, Michael, five sisters and four brothers. Surviving include his wife, Anna; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Joan Skinner; grandchildren, Marcus and Bobbie Skinner, David and Mitzi Wroughton and David Skinner; two great grandchildren, Michael and Mary Jo; two sisters, Flora Kinnison and Nellie Shaw, both of Hastings. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 29 at Urbauer-Williams Funeral Home in Edgar, with the Rev. Charles Carter officiating. Elzora Tole was organist. Casketbearers were Merton McCartney, Archie Melvin, Dale Skinner, John King, Marvin Elifritz and Floyd Wheeler. Masonic graveside services were given by Nelson Lodge #77 A.F. & A.M. with interment in Nelson Cemetery. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, October 1, 1981; pg. 13
