Description	:	Arthur T. Mefford, 92, of Springfield died Friday, April 2, 2010 following six months of failing health. He was born June 4, 1917 in Lewis County, Kentucky the son of Sylvester and Janie (Stricklet) Mefford. Mr. Mefford worked as a farmer all his life. He was a faithful member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ, where he participated in church activities and the Mission Fields, and he was an avid sports fan. Mefford, 92, of Springfield died Friday, April 2, 2010 following six months of failing health. He was born June 4, 1917 in Lewis County, Kentucky the son of Sylvester and Janie (Stricklet) Mefford. Mr. Mefford worked as a farmer all his life. He was a faithful member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ, where he participated in church activities and the Mission Fields, and he was an avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Melba J. (Jackson) Mefford; two sons and daughters-in-law Richard L. and Tommie Mefford, Raymond L. and Rebecca Mefford; two daughters and a son-in-law June and Dale Warner, and Fonda Alltop; one brother and sister-in-law Wendell and Betty Mefford, all of Springfield; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; one great great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sons Donald, Ronald and Eddie Mefford; four brothers Calvin, Lawrence, Elmer and Kenneth Mefford; three sisters, twins Ellen Doyle and Nellie Mefford, and Dorothy Lyons. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM. in the International Pentecostal Church of Christ with Pastor Richard W. Blevins officiating. Interment will be in Rose Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Arthur's name to the International Pentecostal Church of Christ Mission Fields, 3333 E. National Road, Springfield, Ohio 45505.
