Ellison, county road supervisor for Sweet Grass county for 30 years and a native of this county, died at the Community hospital at 6:45 Saturday morning following a stroke and heart attack. Mr. Ellison had taken some men to work up the Boulder Thursday morning and stopped at the Rule home in McLeod en route home. He suffered a stroke there and was brought to his home in the Lowry ambulance. He was taken to the hospital the next morning when his condition became worse. He was 69 years of age. Mr. Ellison had taken some men to work up the Boulder Thursday morning and stopped at the Rule home in McLeod en route home. He suffered a stroke there and was brought to his home in the Lowry ambulance. He was taken to the hospital the next morning when his condition became worse. He was 69 years of age. Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational church Monday afternoon, Rev. E. Brentwood Barker officiating. Music was by Mrs. John Fisher and Mrs. O. J. Paulson, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Harry Wordal. Committal rites were conducted by the Masonic lodge. Burial was in Mountain View. Pallbearers were Bob Johnson, Ralph Ryan, Ceryl O'Leary, John Hager, Dr. J. D. Herries and Harry Wordal. Honorary pallbearers were J, F. Clark, Thos. Anderson, Fred Swift, O. B. O'Dell, W. T. Rule, W. N. Clayton, Floyd Pierce, A. E. Vanderhoef, Dr. L. H. Townsend, C. W. Haas, Harold Boe, Dick Armstrong, Walter Osborne, Floyd McAallister, C. E. Smart and Chas. McComb. Mr. Ellison was born near Grey Cliff January 28, 1884 and spent his entire life in the county. He attended the Big Timber schools, residing with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ellison, on the Boulder ranch now occupied by Bion Roys. He served as night policeman for Big Timber in 1912-13. He was married here August 17, 1913, to Miss Grace Briner and soon after their marriage they moved to a ranch on the Boulder about a mile this side of the present Arnold Breck place. Later Mr. Ellison was appointed county road foreman for the Boulder district and also operated Shearing and threshing outfits. The family moved to Big Timber in 1919 and in 1923 Mr. Ellison was named county road overseer, a position he held until his death. He was a member of the Big Timber fire department and the Moose and Masonic lodges. Surviving are his widow; a son, Roy of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. A. I. Berg, and Mrs. Alice Morris of Big Timber and Mrs. Florence Davis of. Los Angeles, and two brothers, Albert E. Ellison of Big Timber and Fred J. Ellison of McLeod.
