Description	:	Obituary Medina County Gazette--August 1, 1890 : A. L. F. Young-- Died, after a brief illness, at his home in Laporte City, Ia, on Thursday, July 17. A. L. F. Young, was a brother of John B. Young and brother-in-law of Hiram Goodwin of Medina. He had been troubled with considerable sickness during last winter, but recently had recovered sufficiently to attend to his business affairs. Read More	Obituary Medina County Gazette--August 1, 1890 : A. L. F. Young-- Died, after a brief illness, at his home in Laporte City, Ia, on Thursday, July 17. A. L. F. Young, was a brother of John B. Young and brother-in-law of Hiram Goodwin of Medina. He had been troubled with considerable sickness during last winter, but recently had recovered sufficiently to attend to his business affairs. A few weeks ago he was taken sick again, and gradually grew worse and finally passed away. Mr. Young was born in Columbiana County, PA, Feb. 20, 1822. In 1829 he removed with his parents to Granger, Medina County, Ohio, where he was married to Lavina H. Goodwin, July 3, 1844. Three children were born of this union, all of whom with their mother survive him. In 1851 he removed to Iowa, settling near La Porte City. The progress of that city speaking of his death pays the following tribute to his memory: "Coming with the early settlers and continuing to live here he was known by him and none knew him but to revere him. He was possessed of a noble spirit a good heart and a pure mind..."
