Description	:	Gourley, Floyd - Floyd Gourley, son of Fletcher and Maude Gourley was born at Villisca, Iowa on June 25, 1903 and departed from this life at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa May 26, 1927 following a lingering illness. He grew to manhood in the rural community north of Villisca and was graduated from the Villisca High School in 1923. Read More	Gourley, Floyd - Floyd Gourley, son of Fletcher and Maude Gourley was born at Villisca, Iowa on June 25, 1903 and departed from this life at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa May 26, 1927 following a lingering illness. He grew to manhood in the rural community north of Villisca and was graduated from the Villisca High School in 1923. On October 22, 1930, he was united in marriage to Ferne Hyde of Villisca, and two children were born to this union, a daughter, Joyce and a son, Jack. In 1938 the family moved to the Clearfield community where they still reside. He was engaged in farming until health forced him to retire. He was a member of Noble Lodge and the Eastern Star of Clearfield. He was united with the Methodist church at an early age. He was active in community affairs and belonged to a number of social and service organizations as long as his health permitted. Floyd suffered with Parkinson's Disease for eight and one-half years but he never lost his cheerful disposition. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and one brother. Those left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife Ferne, his daughter Joyce Reimer, his son Jack Gourley, a daughter-in-law, Phyllis and son-in-law, Herman Reimer; also his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Kathy, Bonnie, Douglas, Patricia, Roxanne, Brian and Alvin Reimer, and Dennis, David, Pamela and Gary Gourley; three brothers, Ralph and Walter of Villisca, Alvin of Carlinville, Ill,, two sisters, Irene Focht, and Elzene Penton of Villisca; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Final rites were conducted Monday, May 29 from the Methodist church in Clearfield with Rev. Tschetter officiating. Burial was in Villisca with Masonic rites. A memorial fund has been established to be given for research for Parkinson's disease through the University of Iowa City. Lenox Time Table, Lenox, Iowa Thursday June 8, 1967
