Read More	Obituary Notice August Hoehne was born May 20, 1870 in Chicago, Ill., the son of August and Louise Hoehne and departed this life November 26, 1952, at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 6 days. He was the first of nine children. In infancy he was baptized in the Lutheran church. He came with his parents to a farm near Sterling, Nebr. when a small child. August Hoehne was confirmed in 1884 at the West Sterling Lutheran Church. On April 18, 1895, August Hoehne was married to Tena Aden. To this union was born four daughters and one son. One daughter , Martha, preceded him in death. Mr. Hoehne was always interested in community affairs and faithfully served on the village board for a number of years. He was a charter member of the Adams Farmers Elevator and has been a board member of the organizations all of this time. Survivors are his wife, Tena; one son, George of Adams; three daughters, Mrs. Clara Lidolph and Mrs. Ida Pallett of Crete and Mrs. Murena Howard of North Platte; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Smidt and Mrs. Martha Wilhelm of Lincoln, Mrs. Mary Smidt of Sterling; three brothers, Adolph and William of Lincoln and Henry of Sterling. Two sisters, Sophia Bargman and Ida Rathe preceded him in death. There are six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 1:45 at the home and at 2:00 o'clock at the American Lutheran Church. Rev. J. H. Reents officiated. Rev. Leo Jeambey sang " The Old Rugged Cross", and the choir sang "Jesus Sleeps", accompanied by Miss Easter Parde at the organ. Interment was made in the Highland cemetery. Pallbearers were: Earl Stake, Frank Savage, Spicer Jones, John Spellman, John Fritz and John VanGroningen.
