August Pahl (whose West-Prussian grandparents, Gotthilf Pahl and Christina Laechelt, immigrated in 1828-1831 to Leipzig, Bessarabia from an ethnic German mother-colony of Annetta-Josephina, Volhynia) continued his traditionally Volhynian "Schumacherei" skills and successful shoe-cobbler/repair into his senior years at Forbes, until 1942. |
