| Description | : | Cornelius Phillip Kimpton and Augusta A. Woodward were married March 13, 1855. Census, 1850, indicates that both families had been living in Fort Jackson, New York Pioneer woman, Augusta Kimpton, with seven small children traveled from Hopkinton, NY by train, boat on Lake Erie and covered wagon to Page County in the fall of 1876. Husband, Cornelius, and son, Charles, had built a house, planted crops and awaited their arrival. A watermelon saved for a treat made the entire family ill. Augusta and son, Fred, died. Reported in the Iowa State Reporter, Dec. 27, 1876. |
