Description	:	Augusta Harkstein (sic) Pohl Augusta Harkstein (sic) was born January 3, 1869 at Neuendorf, Burk-Stettin, Germany and died at her home near Baldwin, Kansas, March 19, 1928. She received her education in her native country. When fourteen years old she became a member of the Lutheran church thru confirmation. The deceased with her parents moved to America in 1883, located at Beaver Dam, Wisc. While living there she became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Read More	Augusta Harkstein (sic) Pohl Augusta Harkstein (sic) was born January 3, 1869 at Neuendorf, Burk-Stettin, Germany and died at her home near Baldwin, Kansas, March 19, 1928. She received her education in her native country. When fourteen years old she became a member of the Lutheran church thru confirmation. The deceased with her parents moved to America in 1883, located at Beaver Dam, Wisc. While living there she became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. In 1887 she was united in marriage to Mr. Herman Pohl. They came immediately to Kansas, locating at Worden. Seven children were born, two preceding her in death. Those who remain to mourn her loss are her husband and Henry, Walter, Ernest the three sons, Mrs. J. B. Nelson and Mrs. Chester Gibson. All the children live near the parental home. There are also nine grandchildren, with a large circle of friends. Mother Pohl placed her membership with the Worden Evangelical church soon after her arrival at Worden. Her faithful, earnest Christian life has been an inspiration to the church all these years. Always interested in the welfare of others, even in the two years of her illness, it was not her suffering that she felt so much, but her inability to do all she felt she should for the Lord and for those she loved. Ms. Pohl was a member of the Worden's missionary society and was greatly interested in its endeavors. Services were held from the Worden Evangelical church, March 21, with Rev. A. Martin officiating.
