Read More	Feb 4, 1908 - Carroll Sentinel - Mrs. Noah Dwight Noble died at her home in Carroll township Tuesday evening January 28th at 11:45 surrounded by her husband and family of two children and friends. For several years the deceased has been an invalid and three years ago underwent an operation for cancer of the throat. She got some relief but only temporary and the disease appeared in other places and though she was continually under medical care it was impossible to check the inroads the disease was making on her strong and vigorous constitution. For months she had been failing and had not left the house for a number of weeks. Though during all of this time she had been able to be up and around and the evening before, her death she ate supper at the table with the rest of the family. A few days previous she was taken sick with pneumonia but was not thought to be in a critical condition until a short time before her death. Miss Augusta Woodward was born in New York state in 1843 and moved to Rockford, Illinois, in 1865, with her parents and was there united in marriage to N.D. Noble in 1870. Two children were born to this union, a son Jay H. and a daughter Hattie. Her son was married a few years past and was livng a short distance from his parent's home at the time of Mrs. Noble's death. The daughter has made her home with her parents and has been a great comfort and blessing to her mother during the trials she has passed through. The deceased was a kind loving woman, patient and submissive and showed Christian fortitude during her long suffering. She loved life and clung to it ever hoping against hope that she would again be restored to health and strength. She had a lovng disposition and all who knew her admired her womanly virtues and were always ready to do what they could to make her days as pleasant as possible. In her death the husband loses a noble wife and the children their best friend, their mother. In their deep sorrow they desire to extend their gratitude to those who so generously assisted them and administered comfort and relief to her who has paid natures last great debt and is now enjoying the reward of a well spent life. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Methodist church. A large number of neighbors and friends had assembled there to pay their last sad tribute to one whom they revered. Rev. JW Taylor conducted the services and delivered a very able serman. The pallbearers were E.H. Bryan, N Beiter, Hugo Goete, John Daikor Jr., Jas O'Herron, aud Henry Baumhover. The remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery.
