April 12, 1923 - Carroll Times - Noah Dwight Noble, 77 years old, died at his home suddenly Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, while assistng his son in hitching the horses. The son, Jay Noble, had asked his fathor to hold the team while he entered the barn to get something. He had just started on his errand when his father called him back. April 12, 1923 - Carroll Times - Noah Dwight Noble, 77 years old, died at his home suddenly Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, while assistng his son in hitching the horses. The son, Jay Noble, had asked his fathor to hold the team while he entered the barn to get something. He had just started on his errand when his father called him back. As he reached his father's side, his father leaned heavily upon him and told him he thought he was going to die. He passed away almost intantly from an attack of heart trouble. Mr. Noble had suffered with heart trouble for several years. He was apparently in good health, however, and was just over a siege of grippe, which he suffered in February. Mr. Noble was born in DuPage county, Illinois, February 23, 1846, and when a small boy his parents moved to Winebago county, Illinois, where he lived until the spring of 1880 when he moved to Carroll and located on the farm four miles north of this city, which has since been his home. He was married in 1869 to Miss Augusta Woodward, who died in 1909. Two children were born to them: Jay Noble, who lives on the home place, and Hattie, who died in 1914. Mr. Noble was a man of fine charcter and purpose. He was a Mason and took a great deal of interest in the Blue Lodge. Besides his son, he leaves three sisters: Mrs. H.W. Cornwall and Miss Josie Noble, of Milford, Conn., and Mrs. Cora Detweiler, of Lincoln. Funeral services conducted by Rev. F.G. Codd, were held at the home at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The Blue Lodge Masons attended in body and held their services at the home and at the cemetery.
