Mr. Foster was born in Lucas County, farmed here, and moved to Newton approximately 30 years ago. Survivors are his wife, Lila of Newton; two sons, Ted Foster Jr. and Leo Foster both of Chariton; four daughters, Virginia McDonald of Newton, Betty Jeffords of Des Moines, Phyllis Kennedy of Chula Vista, Calif., and Lola Weeks of Firestone, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Fern Cunningham of Ottumwa. Funeral services were held at the Church of the Nazarene in Newton Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Ray Hansen conducted the service. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery in Williamson. The Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton was in charge of arrangements.
