STERLING DIED TUESDAY Services To Be Held This Afternoon Mrs. Aurelia Sterling, widow of the late Edmond Sterling, and a member of one of the county's old and prominent families, died in the Sunset Nursing Home in Marion Tuesday night. She was near to 74 years of age. She had been a patient in the Home for about two months and her condition was showing marked improvement under the ministration of nursing staff there, until she suffered a paralytic stroke a few days ago from which she did not recover. Born in Kingston in 1875, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Georgianna Price Long. She spent her childhood there, but came to Crisfield as a young woman and has lived in this community since then. Mrs. Sterling was a splendid Christian woman, faithful to the duties and obligations of her home and her church, and had made many warm friends who had great regard and affection for her, and who sincerely mourn her passing. Of fine personality, helpful and obliging, she had been called upon to help others in illness and misfortune, and had responded to the calls with gladness, thankful to be of service in time of need. Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Friday, in the Asbury Methodist Church at 2.30 o'clock, conducted by the Holden sisters, pastors of the Pilgrim Holiness church. Interment will be in Asbury cemetery. She is survived by six children, Mrs. Thomas Martin of Crisfield, Mrs. Addie Stevens of Sayville, Long Island; John, Phillip and David Sterling and Mrs. Elmer Amey, all of Baltimore. Three brothers, Upshur Long, Edward Long and Llewellyn Long, all of Kingston, one sister, Mrs. Lilly Long Sterling of Crisfield, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, also survive.
