Description	:	Edmund Sterling, respected resident of the Crisfield suburbs, passed away at his home on Mariner's road, on Friday morning last. Mr. Sterling, who was seventy-four years of age, was the son of the late John Sterling, prominent Crisfield business man and founder of the Bank of Crisfield, and Sarah Dana Sterling, both of whom were members of highly esteemed Somerset county families. Mr. Sterling, who was seventy-four years of age, was the son of the late John Sterling, prominent Crisfield business man and founder of the Bank of Crisfield, and Sarah Dana Sterling, both of whom were members of highly esteemed Somerset county families. The deceased had been in failing health for some months, growing weaker as the days passed, and although his death was not entirely unexpected it, nevertheless, came as a distinct shock to all who knew him. Possessing a congenial, likeable disposition that enabled him to make friends easily and to without effort hold those friendships, Mr. Sterling was known and loved by hundreds who are grief-stricken at his passing. His many outstanding characteristics were familiar to all who knew him. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Aurelia Ann Sterling; three daughters: Mrs. Edna Martin and Mrs. Addie Stephens, of Crisfield, and Mrs. Georgianna Amey, of Baltimore; and three sons, John Sterling and Phillip Sterling, of this city and David Sterling, of Wilmington, Del. Two brothers, Frederick Sterling and Robert Sterling, both of Crisfield, and a sister, Miss Bessie Sterling, a1so of this city, are also among the survivors. Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the Asbury Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. J. T. Rowlenson, and Rev. Robert H. Wilson, pastor of the Mariner's Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Asbury cemetery. Pall-hearers included Dan Pasquella, Arthur Reckord, Ringgold Sterling, John Stephens, Thomas Martin and Burns Sterling. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Friday, October 10, 1941, p. 1
