Description	:	Austin C. Shackleford was born November 2, 1847, at Troy, O. He passed away at his home in Geneva, Neb., June 21, 1928. In his boyhood, he moved to Clinton County, Indiana, where he was married to Miss Delana J. Like, December 22, 1870. In 1872, Mr. and Mrs. Shackleford came to Nebraska and homesteaded in Chelsea Township in this county. They resided on the homestead until they removed to Geneva in 1893, Mr. Shackleford conducting a blacksmith shop. He followed this occupation until advancing years compelled him to give up work. Eight children... Read More	Austin C. Shackleford was born November 2, 1847, at Troy, O. He passed away at his home in Geneva, Neb., June 21, 1928. In his boyhood, he moved to Clinton County, Indiana, where he was married to Miss Delana J. Like, December 22, 1870. In 1872, Mr. and Mrs. Shackleford came to Nebraska and homesteaded in Chelsea Township in this county. They resided on the homestead until they removed to Geneva in 1893, Mr. Shackleford conducting a blacksmith shop. He followed this occupation until advancing years compelled him to give up work. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Shackleford. Those surviving are Jason D. and Mrs. Robert Fox of Geneva, and Franklin T. of Minneapolis. Mrs. Shackleford passed away January 6, 1921. Mr. Shackleford was a devoted member of the Masonic Order and was very active in the affairs of the order. The funeral took place from the deceased’s late home at 2 p.m. Saturday, and was conducted by Rev. David Tudor. Interment was in the Geneva Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal June 28th, 1928 page 1.
