Description	:	Avis Waunetta Yetter Wolford, 86, of North Platte, moved peacefully from her long-time residence at Centennial Park Nursing Home into her heavenly home on March 17, 2021. Avis was born on March 6, 1935, the fifth of eight children, to Ben and Maggie Yetter south of Lewellen, Nebraska on the Clyde Lynch place. She was joined in marriage to Morris H. Wolford on May 4, 1951. They lived on their farm north of Lewellen where they were blessed with six children. They raised their children there until Morris’ health forced him to discontinue farming. Read More	Avis Waunetta Yetter Wolford, 86, of North Platte, moved peacefully from her long-time residence at Centennial Park Nursing Home into her heavenly home on March 17, 2021. Avis was born on March 6, 1935, the fifth of eight children, to Ben and Maggie Yetter south of Lewellen, Nebraska on the Clyde Lynch place. She was joined in marriage to Morris H. Wolford on May 4, 1951. They lived on their farm north of Lewellen where they were blessed with six children. They raised their children there until Morris’ health forced him to discontinue farming. Avis was preceded in death by Morris, leaving her a single mother to six teenagers. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Ben and Maggie Yetter, her brother Walter who died in action in the Korean War in 1951, brothers Herb Yetter, Al Yetter, Bob Yetter, sisters Edith Yetter Rittenhouse, Donna Yetter Moore, daughter Joyce Wolford, son in law James Berglund, and granddaughter Christy Ward Harbur. Avis is survived by her brother Delbert Yetter (Mabel) of Oshkosh, son Doug M. Wolford (Teresa) of Big Springs, and Daughters Patricia Berglund of Lewellen, Aneita Strasburg (Kim) of Arnold, Doris Hill of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Deloris Ward (Thomas) of Maxwell, sixteen grandchildren and may, many great grandchildren. Avis was a cheerful woman who carried a deep love for Jesus and all those He died to save. She was also a poet and songwriter, loved to sing, loved gardening until health bound her from it. She did the best she could with what she had under some very difficult circumstances, and held fast to her faith through it all. She held a bible study group at Centennial Park Nursing Home, read to others there and loved the craft classes. But above all, Avis loved God and the family He blessed her with. Her greatest joy came from seeing her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The world is a better place because she lived in it.
