Description	:	Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," June 1, 1967: Azel Frank Bower, 61, of 123 S. Adams Street, died at St. Joseph Hospital at 3:50 a.m. Wednesday, after an eight-day illness. The son of Charles and Rinda Bower, he was born Aug. 6, 1905, at Coal City. He had been a longtime resident of Ottumwa; served in the Air Force during World War II, and was a member of the O.B. He was married to Mary Louise Flannigan [sic], June 22, 1936, at Indianapolis, Ind. He was employed in the smoked meat department at John Morrell & Co. Survivors include his widow; a son, Stephen F. Bower, at home; two brothers, George Bower of Ottumwa and Louie Bower of Los Angeles; and two sisters, Irene Bradshaw and Maxine Frazier of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by two brothers. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Traul Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Hart, St. Joseph Hospital chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. The American Legion members will conduct military services at the grave. Pallbearers will be George Sertterh, Robert Cullinan, Phil Smith, John Emanuel, Ted Coffman and Tom Bernemann.
