The daughter of George and Anna Carder, she was born May 22, 1886, at Unionville, Mo. She was married in 1903 at Exline to Charles Bower, who preceded her in death in 1919. The daughter of George and Anna Carder, she was born May 22, 1886, at Unionville, Mo. She was married in 1903 at Exline to Charles Bower, who preceded her in death in 1919. She was married to Henry Poncy in 1923 in Ottumwa. He died in 1925. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Irene Bradshaw and Mrs. Maxine Frazier, both of Ottumwa; four sons, Azel F. Bower, Burtis Bower, George Bower and Louie Bower, all of Ottumwa; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Bray, Ottumwa, and Mrs. Hazel Rockhill, Creston; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Jackson, East Moline, Ill. and Mrs. Leona Gilberet, Des Moines, and a brother, Larry Carder, Rick Island [sic], Ill. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Francis Bower, two brothers and a sister. "PONCY SERVICE," From "Ottumwa Courier," April 13, 1950: Funeral services for Mrs. Rinda Jane Poncy, 63, of 231 North Davis street, who died Wednesday morning, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pentecostal church, conducted by the Rev. W.B. Friend, pastor. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Braxton Carder, Arthur Sells, Lloyd Large, John Snoddy, James Burns, and Earl Miller. The casket will be taken from the Carroll Reece funeral home to the church at noon Saturday.
