Description	:	EMPORIA -- Barbara Jane Corbett, 82, Emporia, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at her home. Miss Corbett had been an executive secretary, and a secretary at Emporia State University, and she taught school in Alma from 1941 to 1943. She was born May 29, 1917, in Emporia, the daughter of Arthur William Corbett and Ethel DeLong. She graduated from Emporia Senior High School in 1935, and she earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Emporia. Read More	EMPORIA -- Barbara Jane Corbett, 82, Emporia, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at her home. Miss Corbett had been an executive secretary, and a secretary at Emporia State University, and she taught school in Alma from 1941 to 1943. She was born May 29, 1917, in Emporia, the daughter of Arthur William Corbett and Ethel DeLong. She graduated from Emporia Senior High School in 1935, and she earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Emporia. She also attended Kansas State University, Columbia University in New York City, and Kansas State Teachers College at Emporia. Miss Corbett was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, First Congregational Church where she served as a trustee, and she was a former board member at Hetlinger Developmental Services and the American Red Cross. Survivors include a brother, Robert M. Corbett, Topeka; two nephews and a niece. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 10 at the First Congregational Church in Emporia. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia. Miss Corbett will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Carlson Funeral Home in Emporia. The casket will remain closed.
