Read More	ARAPAHOE PUBLIC MIRROR, Arapahoe, Nebraska Wednesday, May 10, 2000 pg 14 --------- Barbara Jean Breinig, age 64, of Arapahoe, Nebraska died Saturday, April 29, 2000 at her home in rural Arapahoe after fighting cancer. She was born August 2, 1935 at Council Bluffs, Iowa to Earl and Ruth (Shawler) Land. She grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs with the class of 1953. Following graduation she moved to Colorado where she met her husband F. Duane "Corky" Breinig. They were married February 28, 1954 in Arapahoe, Nebraska. They have been engaged in farming the rest of her life in the Arapahoe area. She was a member of the Christian Church of Christ of Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley Mae. Survivors include: husband: F. Duane "Corky" Breinig of Arapahoe, Nebraska; two sons: Steve Breinig and wife Ruth of Lincoln, Nebraska, Scott Breinig and wife Pam of Arapahoe, Nebraska; two daughters: Vickie and husband Jim Traver of Blair, Nebraska, Wendy and husband Mike Pruitt of Holdrege, Nebraska; one brother: Warren and wife Marilyn Wright of Orient, Ohio; one sister: Earleine and husband Bob Kruse of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 3, 2000 at 10 a.m. at the Christian Church of Christ in Arapahoe, Nebraska, with Pastors Michael Burnette and Steve Breinig, officiating. Soloists were Jamie Traver who sang "Remember Me" and Vic Breinig sang "I Saw A Man". Abbey Breinig and Jamie Traver sang "Amazing Grace". Accompanist was Ruth Breinig and orgnist was Edith Mae Whitbeck. Active bearers were Curt Breinig, Pat Breinig, Jerry Diggle, Dale Hausserman, John McCoy, Dan Tawzer, Greg Woolbridge and Warren Wright. Honorary bearers were Bob Anderson, Dale Beedle, Melvin Christensen, Harvey Daub, Ron Gardner, Jerry Hoffman, Bob Hurst, Joe Lomax, Kurt Tarkington, Eric Tawzer and John Whitbeck. Interment was in the Arapahoe Cemetery with Williamson-Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe in charge of arrangements. Memorial to American Cancer Fund is established in her memory.
