Description	:	Belinda Alfina Songstad 90, died Wednesday in Sweet Grass Community Hospital. She was bom September 29, 1895, a daughter of Berent and Aletta Lavold, at their ranch west of Melville, Montana. She began her early schooling at Basin Creek and then attended the Otter Creek School, She attended high school in Big Timber and earned her high school diploma by correspondence in 1955. Read More	Belinda Alfina Songstad 90, died Wednesday in Sweet Grass Community Hospital. She was bom September 29, 1895, a daughter of Berent and Aletta Lavold, at their ranch west of Melville, Montana. She began her early schooling at Basin Creek and then attended the Otter Creek School, She attended high school in Big Timber and earned her high school diploma by correspondence in 1955. Before her marriage whe worked in Great Falls as a doctor's secretary, she taught rural school and cooked at the American Fork Ranch. She also worked at a store in Yellowstone Park. Belinda was married to Martin Songstad on March 10, 1934 in Big Timber. Montana and they ranched on Seven Mile North of Big Timber. In 1953 they retired and moved to Big Timber to reside. She had been a resident of Pioneer Nursing Home since February 1985. She was a member of the Big Timber Lutheran Church, the Sweet Grass Pioneer Society and the Big Timber Woman's Club. Her interests and hobbies were varied and numerous. She began scrapbooks for the hospital and maintained an accurate and up-to-date family pictorial history. She baked and decorated festive cakes and had an interesting plate and bell collection. She is survived by her husband, Martin Songstad a sister, Mrs. Bertha Webb of Livingston, Montana; cousins, Stella Ayers of St. John's Nursing Home in Billings; Victor Ueland, St. Paul; Ernest Ueland Glide, OR; Melvin Ueland Milwaukie, OR; Arthur Ue- lan. Halsud MN: Otis Ueland Bennett Sharpe, Moorhead Sidney Lavold Shelley, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Stanley, Sylvester, George and twin brother Knute; sisters Minnie Grosfield, Ansoff Shipton and Signie Husebye. Funeral services were held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Big Timber Lutheran Church with Pastor Allen Haugen and Pastor Eric Olsen officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery. Casket bearers were Warren McGee. Al Prim, Leif Anderson, Byron Grosfield, Calvin Lavold, and Herbert Songstad. Honorary bearers were all of her friends. Soloist was Mimi Cremer and organist was Debbie Hedrick.
