Grosfield died at the Family home at the foot of the Bray hill, now known as the Myland ranch, Friday evening of last week. Although not in the best of health for several months, death came suddenly and unexpectedly; her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Thorby; and Mrs. Sophia Beatty being present. Funeral service was held at the Lutheran church Monday afternoon by Rev. A. A.Holbeck, burial being in Mountain View. Music was furnished by Signa C. Bailey and Margaret Busha, with Mrs. Frank Chase accompanist. Pallbearers were her four brothers, Stanley, Sylvester, Knute, and George Lavold; two brothers-in-law, Martin Songstad and Merritt L. Webb. Minnie Amanda Grosfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben S. Lavold, was born April 2, 1890, on the Sweet Grass, west of Melville, spending the early years of her life there. November 24, 1909, she was united in marriage t. Abraham E. Grosfiled, and had resided in this county most of her life, 11 years, 1917 to 1928, being spent in Minnesota. During the last years, the family resided on the old Bray place, now known as the Sivert Mydland ranch. She is survived by a husband, Abraham E. Grosfield, and three children- Byron Grosfield, Lillian Thornby, and Gilma Anderson; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben S. Lavold; four brothers and four sisters- Stanley, Knute, Sylvester, and George Lavold; Mrs. Belinda Songstad of Big Timber; Mrs. Eertha Webb of Livingston; Mrs. Ansoff Shipton, McIntyre, Iowa; Mrs. Signie Hitchcock, Hollywood, Calif.; one grandson, Billy Thornby.
