Description	:	Mrs. Belle Ellis, 98, widow of Charles L. Ellis, died Monday, January 2, 1967, at the hospital in Friend. She was born December 11, 1868, near Melrose, Ia., the daughter of James and Sarah Kemper. When she was five, her parents came to Nebraska, homesteading in the Blue Vale area in York county. February 2, 1899, she and Mr. Ellis were married. They were the parents of four children. They farmed near McCool until 1931, later moving south of York. Mr. Ellis died January 22, 1937. She was born December 11, 1868, near Melrose, Ia., the daughter of James and Sarah Kemper. When she was five, her parents came to Nebraska, homesteading in the Blue Vale area in York county. February 2, 1899, she and Mr. Ellis were married. They were the parents of four children. They farmed near McCool until 1931, later moving south of York. Mr. Ellis died January 22, 1937. Since then she has resided with her daughter, whose family moved to Exeter in August, 1964. Surviving are a son, James Ellis, and a daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Helen) Graybill, both of Exeter; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Graham of Fairmont; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband and infant son and a daughter. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Metz Chapel in York, Rev. Robert Enck officiated.
