During the Civil War, Benjamin served with the NEW JERSEY VOLUNTEERS, Company C, Ninth Regiment. Cambern, Benjamin B, Private mustered in Feb. 29, 1864 for 3 Yrs, discharged Aug. 22, 1865. Transferred from Co. D; discharged at Trenton, N. J., S. O. 5, Ex. 5, Hd. Qrs. Norfolk, Va., Aug. 19, '65.
