Read More	Word was received by Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Wehrman Monday night of the death of Ben Long, 62, who passed away in the Printer's Home in Colorado Springs, Colo. Mr. Long, whose home was in San Mateo, Calif., has been in poor health for several years and just last Wednesday was flown to Denver, and from there taken to the Printer's Home in Colorado Springs. The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, May 25, 1967; pg. 5 ===== Benjamin Fletcher Long, the youngest son of Tina and Fletcher Long, was born Dec. 6, 1904 in Nelson. He passed away May 22, 1967, in the Printer's Home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Surviving are his daughter, Sharalyn Spiteri, her husband and two children; a son Gary Long and his wife; a brother J.D. Long and a sister, Esther Wehrman. Ben became a member of the First Presbyterian church (sic) of Nelson when a young boy. As a newspaper man, Ben lived for many years in San Francisco where he was employed by the Chronicle. When ill health forced him to retire a few years ago, he moved to San Mateo to be near his daughter and family. Graveside services were hld (sic) at the Nelson Cemetery Tuesday June 6, conducted by Rev. Peter Vanderveen. Arrangements were by the Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson.
