Description	:	Benjamin F. Greiman, born Dec 29 1890 on his parents' farm in Liberty Twp., was the son of William F. and Dora (Lau) Greiman. Ben was the middle child of thirteen children. He attended rural school at Liberty# 6. Ben and Nettie Griffen were married Aug. 12 1914 at the Garner Methodist parsonage. Nettie Mabel Griffen was born Feb. 26, 1891 on her parents' farm in Liberty Twp. She was the youngest child of Edward and Mary (Arnold) Griffen. He attended rural school at Liberty# 6. Ben and Nettie Griffen were married Aug. 12 1914 at the Garner Methodist parsonage. Nettie Mabel Griffen was born Feb. 26, 1891 on her parents' farm in Liberty Twp. She was the youngest child of Edward and Mary (Arnold) Griffen. She went to Liberty #1 country school and completed her education at Garner High School. Later she taught at Liberty # 9 boarding with her brother, Louis Griffen. After their marriage, Ben and Nettie lived on a farm owned by his father. A new house and barn had been build that year(1914). The barn was destroyed by a windstorm in 1921. They later bought the farm. Ben and Nettie spent nearly 50 years there before Ben passed away Feb 7, 1963. Two years later Nettie bought a home in Garner where she lived until her death April 1, 1977. They are buried at Peace Reformed Church Cemetery one-half mile east of their farm home. The Greimans were active members of Peace Reformed Church. As his father, Wm.F. Greiman, had done previously, Ben served as Liberty Twp trustee and later as county supervisor. Ben, like his father, was also an inventor. His first patent was on a planter gauge to regulate seed-planting depth. Other popular patents were rotary cultivator shields, an adjustable Hiller and an egg washing device. Ben and Nettie had eight children: Floyd, Marie, Grace, Dorthy, Walter, Verne, Donna and Nell who all attended Liberty # 6 and Klemme High School.--Marie Greiman Anderson
