Description	:	From BUILDERS OF TOPEKA 1934 Ben. F. Dingman, president of the Kansas Life Insurance Co. of Topeka, was born in Clay Center, Kan., July 1, 1909, the son of Charles W. and Louise M. (Mitchell) Dingman. His father was one of the organizers, and until his death in 1932, president of the company, originally known as the Guaranteed Securities Life Insurance Co. Dingman, president of the Kansas Life Insurance Co. of Topeka, was born in Clay Center, Kan., July 1, 1909, the son of Charles W. and Louise M. (Mitchell) Dingman. His father was one of the organizers, and until his death in 1932, president of the company, originally known as the Guaranteed Securities Life Insurance Co. Mr. Dingman was a freshman in the high school of Long Beach Polytechnic School, a sophomore in Topeka High School and received his high school diploma from the San Diego Army and Navy Academy. The next year he spent working in the Security First Nat'l Bank of Los Angeles and attending a commercial college in San Diego. He graduated from the military academy in 1926 and from Washburn College with an LL.B degree in 1932. At Washburn he distinguished himself in football, being chosen All-Conference end two years and All-State end one year. He also won the Intra-Mural light heavy-weight boxing championship two years in succession at Washburn. Mr. Dingman is a member of Alpha Delta fraternity, the "W" Club, Sagamore, Quill Club, Toeka Country Club, Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce. In addition to his insurance affairs, he manages the 900-acre ranch known as "Hobby Hollow," west of Topeka, on which he lives. He was married July 8, 1933, to Miss Margaret Lemons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Lemons, of Topeka. Home R 2, Silver Lake, Kansas. Office, Nat'l Bank of Topeka Building.
