The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, July 20, 1961 ============================== After a lingering illness, Ben Thomas Doggett passed away July 19, 1961, at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebr. He was born Nov. 6, 1887, to Mr. and Mrs. Ben Doggett at Pawnee City, Nebr. On Aug. 12, 1912, he was united in marriage with Eunice Jacobs at St. Paul, Nebr. To this union five children were born: Ruth Winchester, Gibbon; Oscar of Nelson, Benny of Belleville, Kans., Cleo and Clifford of Chicago, Ill. He leaves his wife, all five children, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one brother to mourn his passing. Three brothers and one sister have preceded him in death. Funeral services were held July 21 at 10 o'clock in the Nelson Presbyterian Church with the church pastor, the Rev. Mr. Lyle Graff, officiating. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
