Peter and Paul's church here for Bernard Hudek whose death was mentioned in last week's issue. Rev. Fr. John Turza was celebrant of the requiem Mass. Serving as pallbearers were Louis Krischel, Charles Fleege, Charles Kemmer, Lester Smrkowski, Francis Stoulil and Lloyd Wagner. Interment was in Calvary cemetery. Bernard J. Hudek was the only child of J.J. Hudek of this place and the late Mrs. Hudek. He was born Nov. 3, 1915 and graduated from the local public school with the class of 1932. On Apr. 19, 1938 he was united in marriage with Bernadiena Ernst and they established their home in Sherman township where he was engaged in farming and where he was living at the time of his death. One child, Marian, 14, was born to this union. He died Sept. 13, in an Iowa City hospital following an illness of about three months duration. Survivors include his wife, his daughter, Marian, and his father, J.J. Hudek. His mother died in 1948. Contributed by Teresa #49560808
