Description	:	Berneice Rohrs, 87, of Hicksville, died Friday, February 16, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Born on September 15, 1929 in Hicksville, Berneice was the daughter of the late Fordyce and Hazel Whitman. On March 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to Virgil O. Rohrs and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2008. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Hicksville. She was a former president of the VFW Auxiliary. Berneice and Virgil owned Rohrs Gas for Less in Hicksville until they retired in 1980.They moved to Florida for seven years but decided they missed... Born on September 15, 1929 in Hicksville, Berneice was the daughter of the late Fordyce and Hazel Whitman. On March 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to Virgil O. Berneice and Virgil owned Rohrs Gas for Less in Hicksville until they retired in 1980.They moved to Florida for seven years but decided they missed Hicksville and moved back in 1987. Bernice loved to bowl before her knee surgery and was once the Ft. Wayne bowler of the week. She enjoyed playing bingo, feeding and watching her birds and eating McFlurries. Berneice is survived by a daughter, Darlene Conti of Ashville, N. Carolina; a son, Neal (Jeana) of Charlotte, Michigan; grandsons, A.J.(Rebecca) Rohrs, Luke (Marybeth) Rohrs; two great grandchildren, Emma and Owen Rohrs. She was preceded in death by her son, Keith. Funeral services for Berneice will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville
