Description	:	FULLERTON — Bernice Syslo, 85, of Fullerton passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at Golden Living Center in Columbus. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fullerton, with the Rev. Richard Whiteing officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery at Fullerton. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is serving the family. Bernice was born Oct. 10, 1930, near Lindsay to John and Clara (Schaefer) Bierman. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery at Fullerton. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is serving the family. Bernice was born Oct. 10, 1930, near Lindsay to John and Clara (Schaefer) Bierman. She attended parochial school at St. Bernard. She graduated from the Lincoln Beauty Academy in 1953. She married Ben Syslo on Sept. 2, 1961, at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus and resided in Fullerton. In 1965, she opened the Country Beauty Shop in rural Nance County while living on the farm. In 1967, they moved into Fullerton and she opened the Town and Country Beauty Shop. She and her husband were also part owner/operators of the Loup River Inn in Fullerton from 1978-1994. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society. She was a Eucharistic Minister and often took Eucharist to those at home. She also assisted with the funeral dinners for St. Ann’s Altar Society for many years. She loved to play bingo, pitch, and pinochle. She is survived by her son, Larry Syslo of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren, Evan and Erin Syslo of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters, Imelda Loeffler of Columbus and Elaine Konwinski of Silver Creek; a brother, Gene (Mary) Bierman of Columbus; in-laws, Tom (Marge) Syslo of Fullerton, Chuck (Celestine) Syslo of Omaha, Dottie Bierman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Virginia Syslo of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; her parents; a sister, Delores Albracht; two brothers, Willard Bierman and Cyril Bierman; and an infant brother, John Bierman.
