Description	:	Betty and Bernice Borgman Betty Borgman, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 1990 at Bellingham, Wash. Bernice Borgman, 83, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 1990 at a Sioux City hospital. The sisters were residents of Bellingham and natives of Sioux Center. Combined services were held Monday, Nov. 19, 1990 at Vander Ploeg Chapel in Sioux Center with the Rev. Dennis Wilcox of Central Reformed Church officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Betty was born Sept. 18, 1904 and attended Sioux Center Public School. The sisters were residents of Bellingham and natives of Sioux Center. Combined services were held Monday, Nov. 19, 1990 at Vander Ploeg Chapel in Sioux Center with the Rev. Dennis Wilcox of Central Reformed Church officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Betty was born Sept. 18, 1904 and attended Sioux Center Public School. She taught in the rural schools and was graduated from Iowa State University. She worked for the Maytag Corporation, first in Newton, Iowa, then in Cincinnati, until her retirement. Bernice was born Sept. 3, 1907, attended Sioux Center Public School, and taught in the rural schools. She was graduated from Iowa State University, and was an instructor there for a time. She taught at Simpson College at Indianola, Iowa, Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Maine State College at Bangor, and Michigan State University at East Lansing. She received her doctorate in child development at Cornell University. The sisters retired to Bellingham where they lived for 16 years. They were members of the St. James Presbyterian Church in Bellingham and the A.A.U.W. Survivors include a sister, Myna Poppen of Sioux Center and a brother, Melvin K. Borgman of Orange City, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sioux County Capital 1990-11-22.
