Description	:	Bernice Esther Lindquist, 76, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, formerly of Vermillion, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Covington Care Golden Living Center in Sioux Falls. Bernice married George A. Cook and had 7 children- five boys and two girls. She later married Irvin A Lindquist and had one daughter. She worked at the Student Union at USD as a cook and also at the medical building where she cleaned. Bernice and her husband Irvin loved to go camping every summer at Apple Tree Road in Springfield with their best friends, Harold & Bonnie Bouck.... Read More	Bernice Esther Lindquist, 76, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, formerly of Vermillion, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Covington Care Golden Living Center in Sioux Falls. Bernice married George A. Cook and had 7 children- five boys and two girls. She later married Irvin A Lindquist and had one daughter. She worked at the Student Union at USD as a cook and also at the medical building where she cleaned. Bernice and her husband Irvin loved to go camping every summer at Apple Tree Road in Springfield with their best friends, Harold & Bonnie Bouck. Bernice and Irvin also loved to garden and canned almost everything they planted. She liked to visit all her friends in Elk Point and drink coffee and tea. She enjoyed going to church with her cousin, Carole and sang church hymns. She enjoyed playing 75 rummy and the board game, “Trouble”. She also enjoyed going on numerous road trips with her cousin, Carole, out in the west to visit relatives and to Nebraska. While living with Nancy in Sioux Falls, she enjoyed visiting her grandchildren, having picnics at the park and having bonfires out in the backyard. Bernice also attended which she called “going to work” at Active Generations where she did activities, went to many outings, did Zumba and other exercises, and made many memorable friends! Bernice had a kind heart that was known for her out spoken ways but had a loving soul. In her last few months of her sickness, she showed her strong will and how much of a fight she had in her until the end. Survivors are her sons, Wallace Cook of Canton SD, Joseph Cook(Patty Dimond) of Vermillion, SD, Fredrick Morse Cook of Spirit Lake, IA; her daughters, Nancy Cook-Chinn(John) of Sioux Falls, Etta Cook (Kelly) O’Neill of Belle Plaine, MN, and Donna Person( Trevor) of Vermillion, SD; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Lindquist, her sons, Cyril and Frank Cook, her brothers, Vincent, August, and Tony Cavendar, and her cousin, Carole Stokke.
