Funeral services for Bea Miller will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilmore City United Methodist Church with Pastor Walden Paige officiating. Burial will be in Marble Valley Cemetery near Gilmore City. Read More	Berniece "Bea" Miller, 85, of Gilmore City passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Berniece Catherine Schott, the daughter of Jacob Vincent and Dorothy Ellen Kruel Schott, was born April 9, 1922, on a farm northeast of Pocahontas, Iowa. The family later moved to a farm northwest of Bradgate where they resided until Jacob's death in November of 1937. At that time Dorothy and her eight children moved into Rolfe, where Bea assumed much care of her siblings. Bea was united in marriage with Elden Miller on June 1, 1941 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Rolfe. The couple made their home on the family farm near Gilmore City and then moved to Rolfe. They later moved into Gilmore City where Bea resided until becoming a resident of Humboldt Care Center North in December of 2004. Bea was employed in food service at Gilmore City-Bradgate School for over 25 years serving as head cook for many of those years. She loved cooking and baking; her family and extended family have many fond memories of morning coffee served with raised doughnuts or overnight rolls. Bea enjoyed spending time with family and friends and attending her grandchildren's many school activities. She spent much of her spare time sewing, crocheting and working plastic canvas projects, most of which she gave to family and friends. Bea was a member of the Gilmore City First Baptist and United Methodist Churches. She was active in the churches women's groups and in the American Legion Auxiliary where she was a Past President. Bea is survived by five children: Gerald and his wife, Linda, of Puyallup, Washington; Dennis and his wife, Peg, of Gilmore City; Ronald and his wife, Sharon, of Gilmore City; Carolyn Maher and her husband, Marty, of Sidney, Barbara Eckhoff and her husband, Don of Britt; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Robert Schott and wife, Vel, of Granville, Thomas Schott and wife, Carol of Taylor, south Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elden, in 1982; sister Ruth and four brothers; Richard, Raymond, Kenneth, DeWayne and one great-grandchild.
