Description	:	Bernita C. Biere, 94, formally of Lowden, died Monday, March 18, 2019, at the Clarence Senior Living Center in Clarence. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ in her memory. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 23, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Clarence, with Reverend Matt Schneider-Adams officiating. Private family burial services will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Clarence, Iowa. Bernita Carolyn Muesing was born December 13, 1924, in Cedar County, the daughter of Christian and Emma (Ebert) Muesing. She married Norman Herman Biere on November 25, 1948, in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2016. Together they farmed near Lowden. She was a UCC Women's Fellowship member and an accomplished gardener, seamstress, baker and card player. She is survived by two daughters, Verlyn (Tom Suhs) Biere and Donna (Len Thiele) Biere, both of Oak Lawn, IL; two grandsons, Grant Suhs and Todd Suhs; and two sisters, Delores Ruther and Joan Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Glenn Biere, two sisters, Eleanor Schroeder and Janice Resewehr and four brothers, Marvin, Harold, Raymond and Walter Muesing.
