Mr. Stalder had been failing in health recently, but a sudden heart attack Sunday resulted in a critical condition causing his death. Mr. Stalder was born January 13, 1879. Schell Stalder and was born on a farm near Courtland, Nebraska on January 13, 1879 and passed away November 17, 1940 at the age of 61 years, 10 months, and 4 days. When he was about four years old he came with his parents to the Iowa farm where he spent the remainder of his life, half mile North of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. He was united with the church when a young man. On March 15, 1914 he was married to Miss Hemina Brunner of Switzerland. Mr. Stalder was an intelligent and faithful Bible student for many years and he taught Bible Class in Sunday School. He regularly read his Bible as long as he lived. As an energetic and ambitious farmer, he met with many accidents which made it difficult for him to get about and led to the decline of his health. He was a kind and loving husband and father and was faithful to his family and friends. His wife, his two children, Mrs. Nellie King and Roy are living to mourn the deceased. One of his brothers and two sisters were passed away, while one sister and three brothers are living in this neighborhood, Mrs. F. A. Hedinger, Oscar Stalder, Fred Stalder, and James Stalder. From his numerous nephews and nieces, six young men were chosen to be pall bearers. His memorial service was held in the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church on Wednesday on November 20 and was conducted by Rev. Forest J. Heizer. Burial was in the Methodist Grove Cemetery.
