Description	:	JAMES C. STALDER James C. (Jimmie) Stalder, son of John and Mary Stalder was born near Brooks, Iowa on September 20, 1885 and entered into rest September 5, 1961, at the Rosary Hospital in Corning at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 15 days. On February 7, 1912, he was united in marriage to Elsie E. Myers. To this union three children were born: an infant son who pasaed away at birth, John W. of Reno. (Jimmie) Stalder, son of John and Mary Stalder was born near Brooks, Iowa on September 20, 1885 and entered into rest September 5, 1961, at the Rosary Hospital in Corning at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 15 days. Nevada, and Ethelda Stillinger of Brooks. Those who remain to mourn his passing besides the immediate family are daughter-in-law, Jo Stalder. a son-in-law, Clyde Stillinger, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Fred of Brooks and Oscar of Nodaway, one sister, Mrs. Ella Hedinger of Brooks, also several nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death. He lived his entire life in Adams county except three years spent in Corning, California, where he operated an electric shop. Returning to Brooks In 1930, he has ever since been busily engaged in the Stalder Greenhouse which he established,and where he has been in business for 31 years, efficiently serving our own and several of the surrounding communities with his lovely flowers and plants. We especially remember him for his early and beautiful pansy plants. Early In life he gave his heart and life to his Master, affiliating with the Zion Methodist Church, later transferring his membership to the Brooks Methodist church. He enjoyed and loved his home and family dearly, and loved to have his family and friends about him. He was surely a true and devoted husband and father. To know Jimmie was to admire and respect him for he truly "lived by the side of the road and was a friend to all." His kind, cheerful personality will be greatly missed in our community, but we shall cherish many pleasant memories or him, his friendship, and his useful, industrious life among us. Funeral services were Friday, September 8, 1961 at 2 p.m. from the Brooks Methodist church, conducted by Joe Cook. Music by John Regiel, with Mrs. Joe Cook pianist. Pallbearers were Leo Stalder, Dale Stalder, Glen Mitchell, Albert Hedinger, Earl Goldsmith, and Wayne Triplett. Flower bearers were Mis. James Crawford and Mrs. Ivan Heston.
