Description	:	Bert Essen, 66, died Tuesday morning at the home of Ivona Lukehart, 806 Anson St. where he made his home for the last six years. He had been in his usual health and death was attributed to a heart attack. Born July 1, 1894 in Marshall County, he was the son of Mr and Mrs George Essen. He had been in his usual health and death was attributed to a heart attack. Born July 1, 1894 in Marshall County, he was the son of Mr and Mrs George Essen. He recived his education in the rural schools and grew to manhood on a farm east of Marshalltown. On April1, 1913, in Marshalltown he was married to Corlene Hundermark. Mr Essen was employed on a farm for 20 years prior to moveing to Marshalltown where he had been employed as a mechanic for Boss Lines for the last 23 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother and a sister. Surviving is a daughter Mrs. Walter (Bertha) Giesenberg of route 5, four granchildren. Also surviving are three sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Cliff Adams of Florida, Mrs William Wolken, Mrs George Tanyer, Henry, Jake, and Carl Essen all of Marshalltown and Claude Essen of Cresco .
