Description	:	Bert Sherbert, 93, died Thursday, Nove 27, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Wakefield. Bert was born Jun 6, 1915 at Clay County, the son of William and Emma (Lister) Sherbert. He grew up in the Broughton Community until age 7 when he moved with his parents to Miltonvale. He married Opal Bisnett on March 12, 1938, they made their home in the Broughton Community. Bert was born Jun 6, 1915 at Clay County, the son of William and Emma (Lister) Sherbert. He grew up in the Broughton Community until age 7 when he moved with his parents to Miltonvale. He married Opal Bisnett on March 12, 1938, they made their home in the Broughton Community. He worked at the Broughton Garage and then for Alsop Sand Company. He later worked construction at Ft. Riley before starting his own construction business in Wakefield. He also served as sexton for the Highland Cemetery in Wakefield. Opal preceded him in death on Oct 28, 2002. He is also preceded by a son, Jackie, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include two sons, Maynard and wife Mildred Sherbert of Wakefield and Bill and wife LaDonna Sherbert of Marion, five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and nine great, great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Wakefield Chapel in Wakefield with the Rev. Todd Britt officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Wakefield Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to the Wakefield Museum in care of the Neill-Schwensen-Rock Funeral Home, 918 7th St., Clay Center, KS 67432. Online condolences may be made at www.nsrfh.com
