Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Kleinhans, 76, were held on Tuesday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran church with Rev. O.F. Pittrack officiating. Interment was in Grace Hill cemetery with the Barnard Funeral home in charge. Bertha Emille Augusta, only daughter of Friedrich and Augusta Schimming was born in Sioux County Jan. 28, 1883 on a farm about four miles northwest of Ireton. At about ten months of age she was baptized. She became an adult member of St. Paul's Lutheran congregation in Ireton by the rite of confirmation October 15, 1902. Bertha Emille Augusta, only daughter of Friedrich and Augusta Schimming was born in Sioux County Jan. 28, 1883 on a farm about four miles northwest of Ireton. At about ten months of age she was baptized. She became an adult member of St. Paul's Lutheran congregation in Ireton by the rite of confirmation October 15, 1902. On October 16, 1902, she married George J. Kleinhans of Kimball, S.D., with Rev. Hugo Grimm performing the ceremony. They lived on a farm at Kimball until 1908 when she and her husband moved to a farm northeast of Hawarden. At that time she also became a member of the local congregation. A year later she moved to Union county where her husband died April 5, 1924. In 1934 he moved to Plymouth county and since 1937 she had lived with her daughter four miles west of Alcester. Since the spring of this year, her health began to fail and on Sunday August 23, she suffered a heart attack and was taken to the Hawarden hospital. She died Saturday. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sons, four brothers and two grandsons. Survivors include two sons, George of Miles City, Mont., and John of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Edna Frerichs of Hawarden and Dorothy Banzhoff of Fairbanks, Iowa; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
